NYU LEARNING AND MEMORY LAB

How are memories formed?
Why do we remember some events in exquisitely rich detail, but only remember individual pieces of other events?
What can enhance the durability of memory?
Does the organization of our daily lives influence the organization of our long-term memories?

These are some of the questions that we are exploring in the NYU Learning and Memory laboratory. Our approach combines cognitive behavioral approaches with a pursuit for knowledge of how the brain carries out these functions with the belief that this approach will lead to a unified study of memory in which structure (i.e. the brain) and function (i.e. behavior) are inextricably linked.
